PIAA 5A Girls Basketball Second Round- Southern Lehigh vs. Lower Dauphin
A season ago the Southern Lehigh Girls Basketball Team made it all the way to the PIAA 5A Semifinals, hoping for another long postseason run the Spartans looked to move on to the Quarterfinals but first standing in their way in the Second Round of the PIAA Tournament was Lower Dauphin.
PIAA 4A Girls Basketball Second Round- Bethlehem Catholic vs. Gwynedd Mercy
The Bethlehem Catholic Girls Basketball Team was looking to advance past the Second Round of the state tournament for the second time in the last three years and back in 2017 the Golden Hawks were State Champions. Searching for the same success in their postseason run this year, the Golden Hawks took to the court in their second round matchup against Gwynedd Mercy.
PIAA 2A & 3A Wrestling State Championships
The PIAA 2A and 3A Individual Wrestling Championships took place at the Giant Center in Hershey this past weekend and as always District XI was well represented.
PIAA 4A Boys Basketball First Round- Bethlehem Catholic vs. Prep Charter
Bethlehem Catholic entered the PIAA Tournament as District XI 4A Champions. This past Friday at Liberty High School the Golden Hawks hit the court against Prep Charter in the First Round of the State Tournament.
Pen Argyl vs. Salisbury High School Football Week 1
A new season is upon us and with that, typically brings changes. In Pen Argyl's case there was a change of scenery at the head coaching position. A guy already familiar with Pen Argyl, as he was served as the principal for 13 years. John Smith, now the new head coach for the Green Knights football program and looking to improve on their 1-9 record from just a season ago.
Bethlehem Catholic Football Gears Up For 2018 Season
The Bethlehem Catholic football team is coming off a yet another 4A District XI Championship season and is looking to pick up right where they left off. The team also ended the season in the same spot as the following year, losing in the PIAA State semifinals. Joe Henrich, in his 7th season at the helm, is looking to keep the momentum from last season going as well as keeping the energy high all season long.
Palisades Searching for Another District Title
The Palisades football program put themselves back on the map after a very successful 2017 season. A season where they went undefeated, up until their loss in the PIAA playoffs. The Pirates also captured a Colonial League title and their first District XI Title since 2008. This year the seniors are hungry for a second straight District Championship and are very confident in the underclassmen to step up in key roles this season.
Emmaus High School Football Preview
The Emmaus Green Hornets are yet another contender in the EPC this year, especially with a new addition to their squad. The Hornets went 6-5 in the 2017 season but saw its' season end in the first round of District playoffs to the Freedom Patriots. Feeling disappointed in how things ended last season, but confident in going further this year with the help of QB Ethan Parvel.
Logan Kreglow on America Ninja Warrior
We all know the comeback story of Logan Kreglow, who suffered a devastating injury during his senior football season. Kreglow recovered in more ways than one, succeeding at the collegiate level as a decathlete at Cornell University but after school knew he was destined for even more. Keystone Pub was the host to the watch party for Logan as friends, family and former coaches gathered to watch Logan on the big stage in the ANW Philly City Finals.
Andy Weaver Softball Tournament Fundraiser
If you live in the Lehigh Valley there's a good chance you know who Andy Weaver is. He is a ticket taker, coach, a fan and most importantly a friend. Dimmick Park played host to a softball tournament, used as a fundraiser for Andy in hopes of getting him a new wheelchair.
The Saquon Barkley Fan Base
There is very few players, especially rookies, that have the same amount of hype surrounding them as NY Giants running back Saquon Barkley does. The determined rookie doesn't let that get to him though, keeping his head down and mind focused on working hard for his first ever football season as a pro. It's also just as rare to have a following and support system like Barkley has, from his hometown. Even though the pressure might be on, after having a 3-13 season, the fans are just excited to see what Barkley can do.
Barkley Begins His Professional Career
It was only 4 years ago that Saquon Barkley was gearing up for preseason at Whitehall High School. Now, still getting reading for another football season but this time instead of maroon and gold, he'll be dressed in Giants blue. With just a few practices under his belt, the rookie is asking a lot of questions to his veteran teammates and beginning to fit in like the pro he is.
First Day of New York Giants Training Camp
NFL Training Camp got underway last week for all of the NFL teams, with the Giants starting things off on Wednesday. Very few players are being talked about as much as one rookie: Saquon Barkley is. Our Kristi Fulkerson got a chance to catch up with Barkley about how things are going so far.
Bethlehem Baseball Camp
We've visited both the Bethlehem football camp as well as the softball one, but last week it was time for some baseball! The Bethlehem baseball camp was hosted by Joe Stellato who brought in two top-tier, high school baseball coaches in Nick D'Amico from Freedom and Andy Pitsilos from Liberty. The kids not only had a great experience learning what will be expected of them in the future but also, a lot of fun!
Lehigh Valley Summer League Soccer Championship
It was the boys turn in the Lehigh Valley Summer League soccer championship game where Penn Ridge would face New Tripoli FC. Penn Ridge already having score 11 goals in the tournament were going up against a team hungry for a championship. New Tripoli has been in the finals for the past 4 years but were the runners-up for those past 4 years.

ICANSHINE Bike Camp Awards
We shared the story of the ICANSHINE Bike Camp where children with disabilities learned to ride a two-wheel bike. At the end of their week not only did they know how to ride a bike but they also got their awards for a job well done!
ICANSHINE Bike Camp
This week there was a unique and inspirational camp for kids with disabilities who want to learn how to ride a bike and become a lifelong rider. Easton Area High School was the host to ICANSHINE Bike Camp, where 5 days were dedicated to teaching the kids how to ride. The goal? To have a lot of fun, progress in some way and even ride a two-wheel bicycle.
Easton High School Baseball Camp
Easton Area High School has been keeping very busy this summer, hosting many different types of camps. This one was hosted by the baseball team in hopes of teaching the youngsters all there is to know about the sport. The coaches and players also use this as a way to connect with the kids in their community and create relationships with the future of Easton baseball.
Darrun Day Basketball Clinic
The Five Star Heart project just recently renovated the Boys & Girls Club of Bethlehem and in just the perfect time to hold their first ever basketball clinic. Darrun Hilliard, a product of Liberty, Villanova and current San Antonio Spur, was back in Bethlehem helping out at the Darrun Day Basketball Clinic.
2018 Will Wotring LAX Fest
This year Quarry Lane Park was the home to the 17th annual Will Wotring LAX Fest. Each year since Will's passing in 2002, there has been a lacrosse tournament in efforts to preserve the fallen athletes name. Since the start of the tournament they have raised around $20,000, all going to Project Help, an organization Will himself used to work with.
A-Town Throwdown Dunk & 3-Point Contest
The A-Town Throwdown was a huge success this past weekend and there was more action than just the tournament style games. They also had a little showcase; the 3-point and slam dunk contests.
PAAC Firecracker Meet
The Fourth of July holiday went all the way through the weekend for Parkland Aquatic Club's 4th Annual Firecracker Meet at the Mack Pool in Allentown. The weather could not have been better for the 600 swimmers and 30 teams competing at the swim meet. Competition would come from all across the Lehigh Valley and all the way from Philadelphia and New Jersey, for the chance to swim in the 50 meter pool.
Easton High School Summer Camps
During the summer kids take every opportunity to hit different summer camps throughout the Lehigh Valley. Easton Area High School was a very busy summer camp location, playing host to both a baseball camp as well as a tennis camp.
Nazareth Youth Football Camp
If you want to be like former Nazareth football player Jahan Dotson and play football at Penn State University, you might want to try out a football camp at his former high school. Each year high schools all across the Lehigh Valley hold summer football camps and at Nazareth, they use it as a chance for the young kids to learn important football skills but also for the high schoolers to get a chance to work with the young kids who look up to them in their community.
Local Brothers Representing in FIL World Lacrosse Championships
Emmaus boys lacrosse head coach Desi Gonzalez and his brother Lou, are gearing up for the FIL World Lacrosse Championships. The two will be representing Puerto Rico as their first national team. They will be playing their first match against Whales, on July 13th.
Danny Berlitz Commits to Auburn University
When you talk about someone who has had a great high school swimming career, Danny Berlitz certainly comes to mind and he's only a junior. Berlitz, a swimmer at Marian Catholic, has already racked up District Championships as well as State Championships and now has officially committed to Auburn University.
Jeff Dailey Memorial Golf Tournament
It was a beautiful day for friends and family to get out on the golf course, for the 11th annual Jeff Dailey Foundation, as they hosted the Jeff Dailey Memorial Golf Tournament held at Green Pond Country Club. The golf tournament and foundation is in memory of Jeff Dailey, the former standout basketball player from Notre Dame who tragically passed away in a house fire at ESU in 2007. This tournament is one of the biggest fundraising events for the foundation, which brought out a total of 288 golfers.
Local Talent at Big 33 Football Classic
The Big 33 Football Classic; one of a high school football player's dream to get an invitation to play. A game that invites the best players from the state, where four total players would represent the Lehigh Valley. Just as big an accomplishment as it is for the players, same goes for coaches, where one Lehigh Valley coach would get to represent.
Basketball Training with Jermaine Wilson
To be the best you have to train with or under the best. That is the case for a lot of players right here in the Lehigh Valley. Those that are still in high school, getting ready for college or already a collegiate athlete all being trained by professional basketball trainer Jermaine Wilson. But no matter where they're at in their careers, they all agree on how much better players they've become since working with Jermaine.
The Lehigh Valley Tempest Players
The Lehigh Valley Tempest, half way through their season, is off to a good start but what about the team makes them so successful? That would be the variety of players all at different levels in their soccer careers.
PIAA 6A Softball 1st Round - Central York vs. Parkland
The Parkland softball team had the tall task of taking down Central York the another night in the PIAA 6A 1st round game. Central York was coming into the matchup with a 21-1 record but the dominance on the mound from Parkland's Kelly Dulaney, would be enough to help the Trojans move on.
PIAA 3A Volleyball Quarterfinal - Emmaus vs. Council Rock North
The Emmaus Green Hornets were a perfect 22-0 coming into the PIAA 3A quarterfinal matchup against Council Rock North at Exeter Township high school. Both teams sweeping their first round opponents to move on, Council Rock also coming in undefeated at 20-0.
Lehigh Valley Tempest Youth Clinic
The Lehigh Valley Tempest is in it's second season as a team in the Women's Premier Soccer League and recently held a youth clinic for kids from 4th-9th grade. The players and coaches work together to give the young athletes a positive and fun learning experience.
District XI 6A Baseball Championship - Freedom vs. Parkland
Freedom continuing its improbable run and meeting up with a team that has certainly won a few titles before. It was the District XI 6A Title on the line, where Parkland was looking for their second postseason title, already winning in EPC.
PIAA Track & Field Championships Day 1
Friday brought both beautiful weather and medals for some athletes from District XI. Among those athletes were Lydia Bottelier from Palisades, Jack Reichenbach from Salisbury as well as Ayanna Burrell from Stroudsburg.

The PIAA Track & Field Championships were a two day event, where the weather would stay beautiful and more District XI athletes would get to climb atop the podium.
Colonial League Baseball Championship: Southern Lehigh vs. Palisades
Heading West to Hamburg high school to be able to get some baseball action in because of the weather. Palisades would take on Southern Lehigh, the #3 seed, who just beat the #2 seed Northwestern in the semifinals. Palisades would top Saucon Valley 8-3 to advance. The two meeting now, with only one walking away as your Colonial League Champion.
EPC Baseball Championship: Parkland vs. Easton
With the weather taking a toll on this years baseball season teams have had to make up a lot of games and play them in a short amount of time. One team that stayed resilient through it all though, was the Parkland Trojans and that would show as they looked to defend their EPC Title again, against Easton.
Profile Story on Emmaus' Bailey O'Connor
With EPC lacrosse playoffs getting underway, Emmaus is among the teams competing for that EPC Title and with the help of junior Bailey O'Connor. Although he has his future plans set for him, right now O'Connor looks to make an impact for his high school team right now.
Saucon Valley vs. Freedom Girls Lacrosse
The Saucon Valley girls lacrosse team was looking to bounce back after a tough overtime loss to Easton, while Freedom was looking to avenge their loss to Saucon Valley from earlier this season.
Easton & Phillipsburg Meet on the Diamond
There will always be great rivalries between schools, but very few are like the Phillipsburg Easton rivalry. The baseball teams met up Monday night fighting for both a win and the chance to hoist that rivalry trophy in the air.

Over at Green Pond Country Club, they would host the Academic All-Star Breakfast. They would honor 26 scholar-athletes from 13 different Colonial League schools.

Feature on Southern Lehigh Lacrosse Face-off Star
If you know anything about lacrosse you know that the game can either be won or lost on the face-off 'X'. For Southern Lehigh, that certainly is not an area that they have struggled in. Thanks to Mike Sisselberger, they have won a lot of face-offs and a lot of games because of it. Gwen Begley got to sit down and talk with Sisselberger on his journey and how he got to where he is today.
Emmaus vs. Central Catholic Boys Lacrosse
Emmaus with a tough week taking on two District Champions in their respective classes, Allentown Central Catholic being one of those. A big test for both teams as Emmaus was looking to take down the Vikings who were coming off two straight wins, while the Hornets were looking to bounce back after their first loss of the season against Wilson West Lawn.
