PIAA 5A Girls Basketball Second Round- Southern Lehigh vs. Lower Dauphin
A season ago the Southern Lehigh Girls Basketball Team made it all the way to the PIAA 5A Semifinals, hoping for another long postseason run the Spartans looked to move on to the Quarterfinals but first standing in their way in the Second Round of the PIAA Tournament was Lower Dauphin.
PIAA 4A Girls Basketball Second Round- Bethlehem Catholic vs. Gwynedd Mercy
The Bethlehem Catholic Girls Basketball Team was looking to advance past the Second Round of the state tournament for the second time in the last three years and back in 2017 the Golden Hawks were State Champions. Searching for the same success in their postseason run this year, the Golden Hawks took to the court in their second round matchup against Gwynedd Mercy.
PIAA 2A & 3A Wrestling State Championships
The PIAA 2A and 3A Individual Wrestling Championships took place at the Giant Center in Hershey this past weekend and as always District XI was well represented.
PIAA 4A Boys Basketball First Round- Bethlehem Catholic vs. Prep Charter
Bethlehem Catholic entered the PIAA Tournament as District XI 4A Champions. This past Friday at Liberty High School the Golden Hawks hit the court against Prep Charter in the First Round of the State Tournament.
PIAA 6A Girls Basketball First Round- Freedom vs. Souderton
The PIAA 6A Girls Basketball First Round got underway this past Friday at Easton Area Middle School as Freedom faced Souderton.
Flyers Cup AA 1st Round- (8) Neshaminy vs. (9) Parkland
The Parkland Trojans represent the Lehigh Valley Scholastic Hockey League in this years Flyers Cup. The Trojans entered the Flyers Cup after finishing their regular season with a record of 16-3-1 and beating Northampton in the LVSHL Title Series. Wednesday night the first round of the Flyers Cup got underway at Grundy Arena as (9) Parkland faced off against (8) Neshaminy.
Pen Argyl High School Signing Day
One thing most Student Athletes look forward to is the National Letter of Intent Signing Day as they make it official to continue their Athletic and Academic careers at the next level. This was no different at Pen Argyl High School as Students Athletes signed on the dotted line to continue their sports journey.
District XI 2A & 3A Swimming Championships
The District XI 2A and 3A Swimming Championships were hosted at Parkland High School this past Friday with some of the usual contenders at the top. As the Emmaus Boys were looking to claim their twelfth straight District Title, while the Parkland Girls were looking to make it eleven straight years as District Champs.
PIAA 2A Southeast Regional Wrestling Finals
The PIAA 2A Regional Wrestling Finals were hosted over this past weekend at Wilson West Lawn High School. As some Colonial League Wrestlers hoped to punch their ticket to the State Championships at Hershey.
District XI 6A Boys Basketball Championship
The District XI 6A Boys Basketball Championship was held over the past weekend between (5) William Allen and (7) Parkland. William Allen entered this Championship showdown looking to capture their first District Title since 2011, while Parkland was looking to secure its first District Title since 2016.
District XI 3A Girls Basketball Championship
The District XI 3A Girls Basketball Championship took place over the past weekend as the Championship matchup was set between (1) Notre Dame Green Pond and (3) Palmerton. Notre Dame entered this District Championship after ending their regular season with a perfect 18-0 Colonial League record. Notre Dame was looking to claim its first District Title since 2013.
District XI 4A Boys Basketball Championship
The District XI 4A Boys Basketball Championship took place this past weekend between (1) Bethlehem Catholic vs. (2) Central Catholic. Central Catholic entered this Championship showdown as defending District Champions as last season they won the District XI 5A Title, while Bethlehem Catholic is two time defending Champions in the District XI 4A class. Now with Central Catholic in the 4A class only one team can continue their District Title winning streak.
District XI 6A Girls Basketball Championship
The District XI 6A Girls Basketball Championship was held last Thursday night at Easton Area Middle School between the top two seeds in (1) Northampton vs. (2) Freedom. Northampton entered this showdown looking to claim its first District Title since 2011, while Freedom was looking to secure back to back District Titles.
District XI 2A Wrestling Championships
The District XI 2A Wrestling Championships were held this past weekend at Memorial Gymnasium. The 2A Championships had fifteen finalist from Colonial League Schools as Notre Dame Green Pond saw six of their own wrestlers as finalist, Saucon Valley had five finalist, while Wilson had four finalist all looking to claim District Gold.
Freedom Girls Basketball Feature
Last year was an Historic season for the Freedom Girls Basketball Team that brought an end to a twelve year District Title drought. With Basketball District Playoffs in full swing Gwen Begley was able to catch up with Head Coach Dean Reiman and two key players from the District Title winning team to look back and reflect on the memorable District XI Title run.
EPC Boy's Basketball Championship- (1) Bethlehem Catholic vs. (2) Emmaus
With the EPC Boy's Basketball Tournament coming to an end the Championship matchup was set and hosted Saturday night at Easton Area Middle School between (1) Bethlehem Catholic and (2) Emmaus. The Golden Hawks were looking to win back to back EPC League Titles.
Colonial League Girl's Basketball Championship- (1) Notre Dame G.P. vs. (2) Southern Lehigh
The Colonial League Girl's Basketball Championship was a matchup between (1) Notre Dame Green Pond vs. (2) Southern Lehigh. Notre Dame ended their regular season with a perfect 18-0 Colonial League record, while Southern Lehigh was looking to win their fourth straight Colonial League Championship.
EPC Girl's Basketball Championship- (1) Bethlehem Catholic vs. (2) Northampton
The Championship matchup was set in the EPC Girl's Basketball Tournament between (1) Bethlehem Catholic and (2) Northampton. Bethlehem Catholic entered this showdown as two time defending EPC Champions, while Northampton was looking to win their first ever EPC League Title.
Colonial League Boy's Basketball Championship- (2) Southern Lehigh vs. (4) Bangor
The Colonial League Championship showdown was set between (2) Southern Lehigh and (4) Bangor. This would be the third time this season these two teams would meet with Bangor winning the previous two matchups. The Slaters were looking to win their fifth straight Colonial League Title, while Southern Lehigh was looking to win their first Colonial League Title since 1994.

PIAA 3A Wrestling Finals- Northampton vs. Bethlehem Catholic
The PIAA 3A Wrestling Finals were held over the past weekend at the Giant Center in Hershey. The Finals showdown was between two District XI teams in Northampton and Bethlehem Catholic. This is the third time this season these two teams have met with Bethlehem Catholic winning the previous two matchups.
EPC Girl's Basketball Quarterfinals- (1) Bethlehem Catholic vs. (8) Pleasant Valley
The EPC Girl's Basketball League Tournament got underway over the past weekend with a Quarterfinal matchup between (1) Bethlehem Catholic and (8) Pleasant Valley. Bethlehem Catholic enters the League Tournament as two time defending EPC Champs and on a three game winning streak.
EPC Boy's Basketball Quarterfinals- (4) Nazareth vs. (5) Freedom
The EPC Boy's Basketball League Tournament tipped-off over the past weekend. With one of the Quarterfinal showdowns between (4) Nazareth and (5) Freedom. Both teams entered this postseason matchup with identical 16-6 records.
Easton Area High School Signing Day
Last Wednesday February 6th was National Letter of Intent Signing Day for student athletes around the country and it was no different for the athletes at Easton Area High School. As sixteen senior student athletes signed their letter of intent to continue their academic and athletic careers at the next level.
NJSIAA North 2 Group 4 Wrestling Semifinal- Phillipsburg vs. Cranford
The NJSIAA North 2 Group 4 Wrestling Semifinal was hosted at Phillipsburg High School Wednesday night as the Stateliners took the mat to face the Cranford Cougars. Phillipsburg looking for a win to advance to the finals for a chance to win their twenty first Sectional Title in their program's history.
High School Girls Basketball- Wilson vs. Notre Dame
A Colonial League Girls Basketball showdown took place Tuesday night as Wilson and Notre Dame G.P. met on the hard court. Wilson entered this matchup on a three game winning streak, while Notre Dame was looking for a win to end their season at a perfect 18-0 against Colonial League opponents.
PIAA 2A & 3A Wrestling Preliminary Rounds
The PIAA Wrestling Tournament started Monday night with the Preliminary Rounds in the 2A and 3A Bracket being held at Catasauqua High School. On the 2A side Notre Dame Green Pond was looking to get to Hershey for the first time in program history as they hit the mat with a matchup against Boiling Spring. While on the 3A side of things Northampton faced Central Dauphin with a trip to the Giant Center in Hershey on the line.
District XI 2A & 3A Wrestling Championships
The District XI 2A and 3A Wrestling Tournaments were held on Saturday at Freedom High School. The District XI 2A Championship matchup was between Notre Dame Green Pond and Saucon Valley. Saucon Valley entered this Final looking to win its fourth straight District Title. While on the 3A side the Championship showdown was between Liberty and Bethlehem Catholic. The Golden Hawks were looking to win back to back District Titles.
Colonial League Wrestling Semifinals & Finals
Colonial League Wrestling Semifinals and Finals were held Monday night at Catasauqua High School. The Semifinal matchups were (1) Saucon Valley vs. (4) Catasauqua and (3) Wilson vs. (2) Notre Dame Green Pond. Saucon Valley was looking to win its seventh straight Colonial League Title.
High School Boys Basketball- William Allen vs. Easton
It was an EPC Steel Division matchup Friday night between William Allen and Easton. Easton entered this showdown looking to win its second straight game, while William Allen was looking to bounce back after suffering a loss in their latest matchup.
High School Boys Basketball- Northampton vs. Emmaus
An EPC Skyline Division showdown took place Friday night between Division foes Northampton and Emmaus. Emmaus was looking to grab its fifth straight win.
High School Wrestling- Notre Dame vs. Wilson
A Colonial League Wrestling match took place Wednesday night between Notre Dame and Wilson. Both teams entered this matchup with just one league loss.
High School Boys Basketball- Freedom vs. Bangor
It was an out of Conference showdown for two teams in the Yasso-Rothrock Christmas City Classic with the matchup between Freedom and Bangor. Both teams looking to turn it around after suffering a loss in their last game.
High School Boys Basketball- Nazareth vs. Parkland
An EPC Skyline Division showdown took place Tuesday night between Nazareth and Parkland. Both team playing great basketball as of late as Nazareth was looking to increase its winning streak to six games, while Parkland won eight out of their last nine games.
High School Girls Basketball- Parkland vs. Nazareth
It was an EPC Skyline Division matchup Tuesday night between Parkland and Nazareth. Nazareth was looking to grab its seventh straight win, in a game that took more then four quarters to decide.
High School Boys Basketball- Moravian Academy vs. Notre Dame
A Colonial League East Division showdown took place Monday night between familiar opponents Moravian Academy and Notre Dame Green Pond. Moravian Academy entered this regular season matchup putting it's perfect 14-0 record on the line, while Notre Dame entered with a record of 13-3.
High School Girls Basketball- Southern Lehigh vs. Bethlehem Catholic
It was an out of Conference matchup for two teams in the Yasso-Rothrock Christmas City Classic between Southern Lehigh and Bethlehem Catholic. Both teams sit atop of their Division standings entering this showdown.
Parkland Volleyball Feature
The Parkland Volleyball Team has been one of the most dominant programs in recent years winning seven League Titles, eight District Titles, and three State Titles. Just this past season finishing with a record of 21-4, winning another District Title, and reaching the State Semifinal for the 5th consecutive year all under Head Coach Mike Krause. Gwen Begley had a chance to sit down with long time Head Coach Mike Krause and reflect on all of the programs past success.
High School Wrestling- Wilson vs. Saucon Valley
It was a Colonial League showdown Thursday night as Saucon Valley hosted Wilson. Saucon Valley entered this matchup with a perfect undefeated record while Wilson entered with just one loss.
High School Girls Basketball- Northwestern Lehigh vs. Notre Dame
A Colonial League showdown took place Wednesday night between Northwestern Lehigh and Notre Dame. Both teams playing great basketball as of late as Northwestern is on an eleven-game winning streak, while Notre Dame was looking to make it seven straight wins.
High School Boys Basketball- Notre Dame vs. Northwestern Lehigh
It was a Colonial League matchup Wednesday night between Notre Dame and Northwestern Lehigh. Notre Dame entered this matchup on a six-game winning streak looking to make it seven straight wins.
High School Boys Basketball- William Allen vs. Whitehall
An EPC Conference matchup took place Tuesday night between William Allen and Whitehall at Whitehall High School. Allen entered this showdown with 8 wins while Whitehall entered with 7 wins, but both teams were winners in 3 out of their last 4 games.
High School Girls Basketball- Whitehall vs. William Allen
An EPC Conference showdown took place Tuesday night between Whitehall and William Allen at Sewards Gymnasium. This would be an out of Division game for both teams as Allen entered this matchup with an 8-5 record while Whitehall entered with a record of 4-9.
High School Basketball- Easton vs. Phillipsburg
One of the best Rivalries in Local Sports continued on Sunday between Easton and Phillipsburg, as there were matchups for the both the Girls and Boys Basketball Teams.
High School Wrestling- Liberty vs. Emmaus
It was an EPC Division matchup between Liberty and Emmaus on Wednesday night. Liberty entered this contest ranked #1 in the State in the 3A Classification, while Liberty's Head Coach Jody Karam was looking to reach a milestone in wins.
High School Girls Basketball- Freedom vs. Northampton
An EPC Conference matchup took place Tuesday night at Pete Schneider Gym between Freedom and Northampton. Both teams playing great basketball as of late Freedom entered this showdown winners in 6 out of their last 7 games, while Northampton was winners in 8 out of their last 9 games.
