Yes, yes I know it's only September, but I can't stop thinking about Halloween. With Fall being my favorite season of all, I love everything it comes with. Haunted houses, hayrides, apple picking, pumpkin-spiced lattes, FOOTBALL, you name it, I love it all!
Over the years, I have been to many haunted houses, but still can't seem to find one that really scares me. I'm here to ask if anyone has any recommendations of extremely frightening and thrilling haunted houses in Pennsylvania or New Jersey.
I've been to a fair number and I'm going to share my opinions on a couple.
The Hotel of Horror in Saylorsburg, Pennsylvania has got to be my all-time favorite. This year, they are celebrating their 26th anniversary! It's constructed in a old, abandoned hotel, which just gives it that extra creepy vibe. You find yourself walking up stairs in the pitch black making your way through the different rooms that all have different themes. I will admit that each year, it is completely different than the last. I'm not going to spoil too much for you but I will say that it's never a disappointment.
Another one I went to was the Eastern State Penitentiary, Terror Behind Walls. First of all, the fact that it is located in a real penitentiary is scary enough! Though I will say, after all the hype, this attraction was not very scary at all. You even had to sign a waiver before you went in and that freaked me out more than the actual attraction itself. They do have different events going on through September and October, but I don't think I'll be going back for the haunted house.
Anyone reading this, PLEASE send me any recommendations that you think will be sure to scare me!!!!!!
