The Parkland field hockey team was celebrating prior to the game last night, as they honored their six seniors on senior night: after the game – not so much.  The Trojans welcomed in Easton, a team they knew would be hard to handle; still, the Trojans gave it their best shot.  The Red Rovers were 10-2 in the league and had only allowed 10 goals on the season coming into Monday’s game.  They left with a record of 11-2 and their ninth shutout.  Parkland came out strong, but by the time the end of the first half rolled around, it was the Red Rovers who still had the steam and they capitalized on it.  Riley McDonald got the night started scoring the first two goals just two minutes apart.  That certainly added fuel to the fire.  The entire second half was then all Easton.  The team forced 11 corners and capitalized on two of them late in the half to seal the deal.  Boston University commit and Easton’s all-time leading scorer, Ellie McIntyre, tacked on a goal along with two assists.  4-0 was the final.

The Red Rovers are playing extremely well on both sides of the ball, and from what I can tell they will be a top contender.  A rematch with Emmaus should be an exciting one.
