Yesterday, I wrote about the Muhlenberg field hockey team, so today I figured I would talk about the DeSales team since they have been playing just as well! Just like the Mules, the Bulldogs clinched a postseason berth (MAC Freedom) over the weekend with a 3-1 victory over Wilkes. The win improved the Bulldogs to 5-1 in the league, and awarded them the #2 seed for the playoffs. It will be the first time they have ever hosted a playoff game, and just the fifth time they've made a postseason appearance.

The Bulldogs had to play from behind on Saturday afternoon, but took the lead before the first half ended and sealed the deal in the second. It's the third straight win for the Bulldogs who are on the road for their next game before ending the season back at home against Immaculata. The MAC tournament semi-finals will begin four days later.

The Bulldogs are hoping to make history once again this year. Last season, DSU set the program record for wins with 12. Chances are they won’t beat that this year, but they still could tie it if they win the Conference championship. They also won the first-ever MAC Freedom postseason tournament game advancing to the MAC Freedom championship a season ago; and I would say they have a pretty good shot at advancing again. After all, they did return three All-MAC Freedom First-Team selections from a year ago.
