To win a postseason game is one thing, but to come away with the victory with 2 seconds left in double overtime is a whole different story. The 3-6 (PL) Mountain Hawks needed a little help just to qualify for the postseason, and got it from cross-town rival Lafayette who defeated Loyola. But since, Lehigh has been making every minute count. It’s their third straight playoff appearance, but just their first postseason win since 2010. The Mountain Hawks went down 1-0 early, but fought their way back scoring the equalizer in the 42nd minute. Although Bucknell had home field advantage as the number 4 seed, (Lehigh is the 5th) it was the Mountain Hawks who controlled the game. They out shot the two-time defending Patriot League Champions 21-9. The Mountain Hawks will now play in the semifinals against second-seeded Colgate on Friday at 7:30pm at Boston.

The Mountain Hawks opened up League play 0-4, but have continued to battle showing that hard work (and sometimes a little luck) does pay off. The Mountain Hawks only lost 1-0 to Colgate in the regular season, going back and forth with the Raiders who sit with a league record of 7-1-1. That first loss came in their last outing of the regular season, as they had a first round by in the PL tournament. So anything is possible for this Lehigh team who just keeps on fighting.
