Well, it all comes down to tonight; the EPC boy’s volleyball championship. It’s what teams have been working towards all season. For Whitehall, it's a game they haven't had much success in over the past two years. However, on Monday, in the semifinals, the Zephyrs were able to exact some revenge when they swept the two-time defending champs in Emmaus. It's the Zephyrs' year. The guys have the talent as well as experience and they've used that all season; not only to stay undefeated but by only losing 4 sets while doing it. Offensively, the Zephyrs are playing so strong, putting the ball down so their opponents can’t return it. The only major thing they want to clean up from Monday night’s semifinal is their blocking.
The Zephyrs will meet up with Freedom in tonight’s finals. The Pates are another strong team, and sit with 3 losses on the year. Two of those come at the hands of Parkland, the team they defeated in the other semifinal game on Monday night. The other, you guessed it, Whitehall. On April 19 the two met when the Zephyrs swept the Patriots. But, this is a different team from the first time they met. The Patriots are peaking at just the right time. The entire team is clicking on all cylinders and the past two matches they have stuck to the game plan. The Pates have nothing to lose right now; they are playing in their first ever EPC championship game and they are the underdog.
It should be a competitive, exciting match tonight that unfortunately one team has to lose. But, either way one of these two will make history – no matter which team wins - it will be their first since the EPC came in to existence. Good luck guys!
