EPC Lacrosse; A Sport Gaining Popularity

Lacrosse is a game that continues to gain popularity. Monday night at Al Erdosy Field in Northampton was a prime example. Service Electric provided exclusive live coverage of both the EPC girls and boys championship games. Kristi Fulkerson and I drew the assignment to call the action.

It’s fair to say that lacrosse is not my strong suit. I have done a few college games here and there. The game is still very new to me and there are a lot of areas that are unfamiliar to me. What I do know is that I really like to watch the game. It’s a highly skilled competition that blends elements of basketball, soccer and hockey.

All four head coaches in the game-Dawn Cipolla and Brad Schifko (Parkland), Dan Dolphin (Central Catholic) and Michelle Mihalko (Easton)-thanked us several times for being there to broadcast the games. They mentioned how excited their players were for the games. It was our pleasure. I enjoyed the entire evening. Great venue. Nice crowd. And two good games. Couldn’t ask for much more.

Thanks to the coaches for all of their help. They supplied great information to help us prepare for the game. Hopefully I’ll continue to pick up a few tidbits about the game along the way. I’m already looking forward to the next broadcast.
