Emmaus tri-athlete Tyler Corpora seemed poised to pull off a triple-triple of sorts, join the 100 win club in wrestling and score 100 career goals in lacrosse. Unfortunately, the wrestling milestone fell one vistory short despite Corpora having three chances for 100 at Districts but ultimately he had to settle for 99. Emmaus' list of 100 win wrestlers stays stuck at ten.
Fast forward to nearly two months later, the senior who also runs cross-country went into the May 8th home lacrosse game against Parkland needing 4 goals to reach the 100 mark. He scored four in a 12-9 loss and now has a 100 statistic in one sport.
Head lacrosse coach Scott Ketcham calls Corpora "the little engine that could" attributing his stellar play to having a bigger heart than the rest of the players. And that is why Ketcham considers him a big time player, despite not being one of the bigger guys on the team. Everyone knows he will get the ball and score anyway. Corpora finished the regular season with 39 goals and 21 assists.
I think it's pretty safe to say that the University of Hartford is getting a good one for the next four years..
