I love baseball ⚾. I hate rain delays☔. I've had a lot of both lately.

People always want to know: "What do you do during a rain delay?"

Complain would probably be the most accurate answer. This week alone, there has been a 2:40 rain delay in Reading on Sunday and a 1:55 rain delay at Coca-Cola Park on Tuesday. That's way too much complaining time, so I had to find alternatives.

There's always something on the video board that can catch my eye. Maybe it's another game or some features that are used to entertain the fans. That can keep me occupied for dome time.

I will sometimes catch up on some work, whether it's statistics or research on an upcoming opponent. There are always people floating about the press box, staying out of the weather. You will sometimes run into a scout you know and have a nice long conversation about the game of baseball and the players to watch. Sunday in Reading I met David Fine, the radio broadcaster for the Reading Royals. We killed a good 20 minutes talking hockey.

Tuesday night, I watched the new PBS documentary on Ted Williams. Those 54 minutes flew by. The smartphone is a wonderful thing. I was in my own little world learning some more about "The Splendid Splinter." But I still found plenty of time to complain about the weather!
