I want to start off by saying that I hope everyone had a safe and happy holiday season, as well as New Year. I must admit my blogs have been slacking because I was just enjoying time with family and friends. We certainly kept busy over the past two weeks (and have even dealt with a few fevers) but it didn't prevent us from seeing Christmas lights, going to Disney on Ice, or celebrating New Years with friends. I love the Christmas season, and our family tries to make it last as long as possible. For the past two years we’ve decorated right after Thanksgiving, and we keep our tree up as long as possible!
New Years, however, is another story. I feel like I am in the minority, but I have never been all that into New Year's Eve. I mean sure, it was an excuse to party (back in my younger days! LOL) But, I always felt a little sad that another year was over. Don’t even get me started now, with having kids the years just fly bye even faster. This past New Years however, we went to a friend's house (with our kids) and had a great time. On New Year's Day we had our traditional pork and sauerkraut dinner, which is supposed to bring good luck for the year. That is also when my son had his 103 fever, so can’t say we’re off to a good start!
But in all seriousness, New Years is a great way to start fresh. I know many people make resolutions, including myself (not that they seem to last that long!) But this year is going to be different. This year I am going to try and enjoy the moment more, not stress so much (which if you know me may be impossible), and spend as much quality time with family and friends, because as I said it flies by.
