With yesterday being MLK day, the Sixers had an afternoon home game. With my son being obsessed with sports in general, but the Sixers in particular we thought it the perfect day to take him to the game (normally game time is at his bed time.) And when I say obsessed I mean obsessed. We have to play the Sixers “theme” song constantly, only then can he come running out of the kitchen into the family room, waving to the fans with jersey on. I kid you not.
Anyway, being only 3 years old I really didn’t think he would last the entire game. Boy was I wrong. Not only did he last, as soon as it ended he said to my husband, Tom, “me come back and see Embiid again.” He cracks me up. From the opening introductions, where they turn off the lights and send up the flares, he was mesmerized. Clapping for every name called, every play, he chanted “defense” with the crowd, and thought Franklin the mascot was hilarious. I would definitely say it was a successful day, and even better was the Sixers won! Allowing him to hear his favorite song at the stadium! Fans stopped and watched as he danced and sang along!
Since returning home, we now have to replay the video of the introductions, but first we have to turn all the lights off to make it nice and dark so he can run out, waving to the crowd!
