Let me just get this out of the way immediately: I hate winter weather. T-shirt and shorts trump hat and gloves for me. I'd rather mow the lawn than shovel the snow. You get the picture. Which means the last couple of weeks have not been kind from a weather standpoint.
Mother Nature is not letting us up for air. Not warm air anyway. I should have heeded the warning after seeing the turf field at Hersheypark Stadium plowed before the PIAA 6A football championship game...on December 9!! Winter was still nearly two weeks from actually starting.
This latest stretch of brutally cold weather is great for skiers and snowboarders but I don't even want to go outside to get the mail! I have always been a guy who would much rather sweat during the summer than shiver during the winter. And don't give me the "you can always put more clothes on to stay warm" argument. Who wants to walk around feeling like the Michelin Man? I know some of you do and I'm fine with that. It's just not for yours truly.
If/when the thermometer reaches 40 degrees again, it will feel like summer. Until then, for those of us who like the warm, sunny weather, hang in there. It won't be long before pitchers and catchers report for spring training.
