A big night indeed, as 2 players from the mens side join 1,000 pt. club while the women continue to join in the fight against Cancer! Saturday’s double header began with 27 former lady greyhounds taking the court in the annual alumni game in Johnston Hall. Followed by the current players hosting their 11th straight PLAY4KAY game with proceeds benefiting the kay yow cancer fund. Moravian wore pink as they defeated Elizabethtown 74-57 with 3 players finishing in double digits. Sophomore guard and Liberty grad Maddie Capuano netted a game-high 21 points to go with 4 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals. Graduate student forward Camille McPherson added her 4th double-double of the season and the 12th of her career with 18 points and 10 rebounds. While senior forward and Northwestern Lehigh grad Trista Cunningham capped off the night with 10 points, 9 boards and a career-high 6 assists. With the win, The Greyhounds improve to 14-7 overall and 4-6 in the Landmark Conference. Over the last 9 years, the hounds have raised more than $115,000 for the cause leading all of NCAA Division III in the PLAY4KAY contest.

The Men took the floor next with junior forward Oneil Holder in need of 9 points to reach the 1,000 pt. milestone, and junior guard James Murray needing 24 points to also hit the mark.. Holder will reach the goal with 2:34 left in the first half to become the 22nd player in program history to reach the mark, finishing with 16 points and a team-high 8 rebounds and 3 blocked shots. It wasn’t long into the 2nd half that Murray will also hit the same mark- netting a 3-pointer just 1:14 in, becoming the 23rd Greyhound at the 1,000 point mark. Murray will finish up the night with 6 3-pointers for a career-high 34 points which also moves him into 4th in school history with 146 career three-pointers.
