Well it’s the most wonderful time of the year as they say. Yes, Christmas is rapidly approaching and college students are getting ready for a much-needed month long break, but first dreaded finals. It can be a stressful time for most that requires a lot of concentration, but the Muhlenberg women’s basketball team has not lost their focus on the court. In fact, in their first game back after finals the Mules showed no mercy on Elizabethtown. The Mules offense took off right out of the gates, with a 21-6 first quarter on Saturday. The team would go on to win by double digits 73-56. The victory makes it 10 in a row for the squad, who is now 10-0 on the season. That is the 10th time in program history a Muhlenberg women’s basketball team has won 10 straight, but that’s just the beginning. The Mules, are ranked 18th by, and on Saturday they were just one of 21 remaining undefeated teams in Division III. Ron Rohn is one heck of a coach, if I say so myself. Before the season started he had posted an incredible record of 326-111 in 16 years and Saturdays win (10) set a school record for all Muhlenberg sports; the double-digit record in the win column marks the 26th straight season. That’s right for 26 consecutive years the Muhlenberg women’s basketball team has had at least 10 or more wins. Impressive, doesn’t even begin to describe this program.

Obviously I haven’t seen every team who has made history in the basketball program, but what I can say about this group of young women is besides being a talented bunch, they show heart. They know when they need to rise to the challenge, and don’t seem to get flustered when things don’t go their way. The Mules still have a long way to go, but this talented group still has several records to break.
