The Emmaus boys volleyball team continues to impress as the Green Hornets stay undefeated on the year, despite several unforced errors in recent outings. As a spectator I can honestly say that the team is fun to watch, clearly looking like the favorite to win it all again despite their opponents best efforts.

Last night the Golden Hawks of Bethlehem Catholic were the hornet’s latest victim. Emmaus pulled off the sweep once again overcoming a slow start (according to the team.)  The victory improved their record to 9-0, and they’ve got there without losing a set this season. What’s even more impressive is the team seems to be able to do it no matter who is in the lineup. For the second straight game Freshman Nick Blose has seen some playing time and has made an impact. Sophomore Noah Szankovics also played well on the right side last night, as James Haag had an off night. Having a deep bench that they can turn to is something the Hornets are really excited about, especially once the post season rolls around.

Speaking of the post season, the Green Hornets are taking a break from EPC action this weekend travelling to York for the Koeller Tournament. It is there where they will see some of the best competition in PA. Ultimately preparing them for a state run at the end of the year.
