After a disappointing 2-8 season, the Moravian Greyhounds would open the 2018 season against Kings College. Last years season opener also against Kings College would end in a loss for Moravian after a last second field goal. This season Moravian would look to settle the score.
Lehigh vs. Saint Francis- College Football Recap
Lehigh would open up their season on Saturday with some non-conference play against Saint Francis. After dropping their first 5 games last season, Lehigh would look to start this season on the right foot.
Lehigh's Alexa Keckler's Coaching Debut
The Lehigh University's women's volleyball program has someone new at the helm. Former Muhlenberg head coach Alexa Keckler would make her debut in their first game of the season against Duquesne. Her winning ways translated over to Lehigh getting their first win of the season and Keckler's first win as head coach.
Lafayette Football Looks Forward to 2018 Season
The Lafayette College football team won 3 games last year in the first season under John Garrett and coming into year number two looking to improve even more this season. After year number one, this year is all about the comfortability with Coach Garrett as well as the system.
New Head Volleyball Coaches at Lehigh & Muhlenberg
After 8 years with the Muhlenberg women's volleyball team, head coach Alexa Keckler will be moving on to a new gym: Grace Hall of Lehigh University. Who better to continue the legacy Keckler left behind at Muhlenberg, than a former player of hers, Amanda Krampf. Krampf is excited to follow her former coach's footsteps and Keckler believes the program and her girls are left in great hands.
ESU Men's Basketball Heads to Elite Eight
The East Stroudsburg University men's basketball team is headed to the NCAA Tournament Elite Eight for the first time in program history. Currently on a 13 game winning streak and already PSAC & Atlantic Region Champions, the squad is prepared for what's to come next in the next round.

The Lafayette football team helped in celebrating Dr. Seuss' birthday by going to Forks Elementary School for Read Across America.
Lehigh Wrestler Darian Cruz Goes for Another National Title
The last time a Lehigh wrestler earned the number 1 seed heading into the NCAA Tournament was 7 years ago. That was Zach Rey, who was the top wrestler in the heavy weight class on his way to a National Title in 2011, now Lehigh adds Darian Cruz to that category. Our own Gwen Begley got to sit down with the two-time All American before he bussed over to Cleveland to defend his National Title.
American vs. Lafayette Men's Basketball in Patriot League Tournament
In college hoops, Lafayette was one of four teams in the Patriot League that would play in the first round of the tournament. Fortunately for the Leopards, they would play host to the first round game against American. Lafayette was playing American for the third time this season as they were looking to get the sweep as well as the chance to move on in the tournament.
Mules Brandi Vallely Gets to 1,000 in Win Over Ursinus
A big milestone moment for one of the Muhlenberg womens basketball players as they ride out two straight wins following their first loss of the season. Brandi Valley was at 995 points entering the match against Ursinus and doesn't waste much time to reach the long-awaited mark.
Muhlenberg College Hosts Mercy Field Day
For the third straight year, Muhlenberg College hosted Mercy Field Day for the students at Mercy School for Special Learning. Members of the Muhlenberg track and field team ran this years event, enjoying a number of different activities in the morning with an awards ceremony and dance party in the afternoon. The college has raised over $3,000 for the Mercy School.
Lafayette College Names A New Athletic Director
This year Lafayette hired a new football coach, a new women basketball coach and now adding to the Leopard family is a new Athletic Director. After 10 years as a Senior Associate Athletic Director at Temple University Sherryta Freeman is turning the page to a new chapter in her life.
Profile Story on Moravian College Softball Coach - John Byrne
John Byrne has guided the Moravian College softball program to 786 wins, 3 NCAA DIII World Series appearances and 17 Conference Championships in his first 24 seasons as head coach. Byrne is a 1982 graduate of Moravian and still enjoys being apart of the Greyhound athletic program. Tom Meikrantz recently sat down to chat with John about all he has accomplished so far.
Sit Down Interview with DeSales Men's Basketball Coach - Scott Coval
Our own Jenna Kovalsky got to sit down and talk with Whitehall High School graduate Scott Coval. Coval led his Zephyr team to a State Championship in 1982, then went on to play Division I basketball at William and Mary. In 2015, he reached his 400th win as the head coach for the DeSales men's basketball team. Coval has made such an impact on the court as well as an impact off the court and in his community.
Profile Story on Lehigh's Kahron Ross
Men's Lehigh Basketball's, Kahron Ross worked a lot during his offseason and not just on his game... Over the summer he took a trip to East Asia as part of Athletes in Action. It was a mission trip that he went on, the senior point guard is one of 7 Mountain Hawks to take part over the years. Included in that, CJ McCollum, who called it one of the greatest experiences of his career, and after coming home, Ross said he had that same feeling.
Nick Zambelli Earns CoSIDA Academic All-American First Team
Nick Zambelli finished his junior campaign with 70 tackles, landing third on the greyhound squad, three interceptions, two fumble recoveries and a forced fumble. Zambelli a three-year starter, also earned the "C" on his chest as co-captain for the Hounds this fall, but for Zambelli his accolades extend far beyond the football field.

Former Central Catholic standout and now Muhlenberg senior, JeanLee Baez proves that he's more than just a basketball player. Baez would take an internship that would mean more to him and change his life in ways he never expected.
Lehigh University - "Adopt A Family"
Lehigh University held it's 19th annual "Adopt A Family" held at Broughal Middle School where the entire athletic community and greek life community gets involved. Fundraising and shopping - the key to giving families a Christmas they may not otherwise have.

The Muhlenberg women's basketball team was looking for their eighth straight win as they played host Haverford. The Mules are a perfect 4-0 in conference play and have won their first three Centennial Conference games by more than 24 points.

The Muhlenberg men's basketball team has had a challenging start to their schedule, already playing 3 nationally ranked teams. They are still looking for their first conference win and have only recorded 1 win in 7 games played so far. Rounding out the doubleheader with Haverford, a team they have beaten in the past five meetings.
Lehigh vs. Mount St. Mary's in NCAA Women's Basketball
The Lehigh Mountain Hawks were looking for their fifth straight win against an 0-5 Mount Saint Mary's team. This was the tenth meeting between these two schools.
Lafayette vs. Lehigh in 153rd Meeting
The Lehigh, Lafayette rivalry is the longest rivalry in college football. That alone, creates a hype between the two institutions like no other. In their 153rd meeting, Lehigh was looking for back-to-back Patriot League Championships as well as a playoff berth. Lafayette on the other hand was just looking to put an end to Lehigh's season.
Lehigh vs. Holy Cross Football Game
The Lehigh football team was in control of its' own destiny heading into the last two home games of the regular season. After the most complete win of the season against Bucknell in the week prior, Lehigh played host to Holy Cross at Goodman Stadium in hopes of another complete win before heading into the Lafayette game.
Kutztown vs. Shippensburg in NCAA DII Women's Soccer
The Kutztown University women's soccer team is coming off of a huge 6-0 victory over Clarion, they now face another PSAC opponent as they look to remain perfect on the season. Shippensburg was coming into the contest at 3-8 while the Golden Bears were searching for win number 12 to add to their 11-0 record.
Ursinus vs. Muhlenberg Football Game
Three days after learning of the passing of long time Head Coach Mike Donnelly, the Muhleneberg football team had to pick themselves back up and take on an undefeated Ursinus College football team.
Millersville vs. ESU Football in PSAC East Matchup
East Stroudsburg opened their 2017 season with a win against Fairmont State. After that win, they dropped 3 of their last 4 beating Cheyney last Saturday. Another Thursday night tilt and this time it was the Warriors against PSAC East opponent Millersville. The Marauders came into the contest at 1-4 overall and 0-2 in the PSAC.
Muhlenberg vs. Bryn Mawr in Women's Volleyball
In a Centennial Conference matchup, the Muhlenberg volleyball team welcomed in Bryn Mawr. The Mules are currently 17-2 on the season and have not lost since September 9th.
Kutztown vs. West Chester in PSAC Rivalry Matchup
The Kutztown University women's soccer team was looking to stay perfect on their season as well as trying to take down rival, West Chester. The Golden Rams are coming into the contest at 5-2-1 and looking to be the team to put a ONE in the loss column for the Golden Bears.
Lehigh Valley Amateur Golf Tournament
Sunday's Championship match pitted two Division I Goflers against each other; Tony Sarko from Old Dominion and Cody Cox from Penn State. After advancing in the morning semifinals, Sarko was one win away from becoming the first golfer since, Barry Klinikowski (1990/91) to win back-to-back Amateur crowns.
Wilkes vs. Moravian Women's Volleyball Match
The Moravian women's volleyball team has been hot lately and were looking for their fifth straight win against a tough Wilkes team. The Greyhounds held a gold out that night, raising awareness and funds for the Pediatric Cancer Foundation, which turned out to be just as successful as the Hounds were on the court.
Kutztown vs. Seton Hill Football
The Kuztown Golden Bears are coming off a victory on the road against Mercyhurst but look to get their first victory at home after losing to Assumption in the season opener. The Seton Hill Griffins headed into the contest at 0-2 were looking to capture their first win of the season.
Muhlenberg vs. Moravian Women's Soccer
The Moravian women's soccer team has yet to let up a single goal all season, with three more non-conference matches to go, before seeing a landmark conference team. The Greyhounds were the ones seeking revenge from last year, after losing to the Mules 1-0 in OT.
Muhlenberg vs. Moravian Volleyball
The Muhlenberg volleyball team is looking to even the score for the Matte Award battle as they welcome in a 2-5 Moravian team. A win is never guaranteed when these two rivals meet.
Muhlenberg Gives - Miller Blood Drive/Marrow Donation Registration
The Muhlenberg College community looks to give back by holding an event called Muhlenberg Gives, which is a blood drive run through Miller Keystone Blood Center as well as a Marrow Donation registration through Be The Match. This event started because Coach Donnelly, who was recently diagnosed with Leukemia, needed a bone marrow transplant and there ended up not being a single match throughout the registry. So, Muhlenberg wanted to help in anyway they can, so even though Donnelly is being taken care of (thanks to his daughter being a match), the addition of all of these registrants can possibly help to save another life.
The Cunningham Saga Continues
After a lifetime of playing soccer together, on the same field and wearing the same jerseys, the eldest Cunningham, Kayla and second eldest, Kourtney would take to the field once more, but this time playing against each other. This year would be Kayla's final year playing the sport at Temple University and the final time the two would ever be on the same field together.
Lehigh's Sasha Kelsey Defies the Odds Again
The 17th ranked Lehigh Mountain Hawks took on Villanova this past weekend and were very happy to welcome back their wide receiver, Sasha Kelsey. For three years Kelsey was a member of the Mountain Hawks football team and had battled through a nagging injury that Kelsey pushed through, until one game it became too much. What was believed to be a hamstring issue turned out to be much more serious. After 3+ years of pain and wrong diagnoses, Sasha underwent major surgery in April for a hip fracture and in a short four months of recovery and rehab, the Lehigh wideout is ready for competition. Kristi Fulkerson sat down with Kelsey to get a look into his athletic struggles and beyond. This story originally aired Monday August 28th on Lehigh Sports Central.
Lafayette Football Excited for Season Opener
A new head coach at College Hill and a lot of anticipation for the new season to get underway. A new era has begun and that comes with a new system, offense, defense as well as special teams. Head Coach John Garrett has said how well the entire team has adapted to these new changes and how excited they are to play against someone other than themselves.
Former Parkland Trojan Hannah Pany Comes Home to Face Lehigh
Former Parkland standout field hockey player, Hannah Pany, is now in her junior year at Ohio State University. Pany traveled with her Buckeye team to Lehigh University this past weekend to face off against the Mountain Hawks. Pany has recently transitioned from midfield to defense this season and helped the Buckeyes to shut out Lehigh in the contest 4-0. A good win for the team and great chance to catch up with some family and friends.
The Lehigh University's Women's Soccer Team Season Opener
The Lehigh Women's soccer team season has begun and their first matchup would be up against a tough Monmouth team. Lehigh and Monmouth would tie in their last two matches against each other in the past two seasons and this game would be more of the same. Although the same outcome from last year, the shots on goal would be the biggest difference.
Muhlenberg's Mike Donnelly Helping Prep for 2017 Season
Mike Donnelly diagnosed with Leukemia this Spring but will be in attendance on the sidelines until he cannot anymore. The Muhlenberg Football team are certainly happy to have him there and they hope Donnelly can be with him and help them extend their success from the previous years.
Moravian Football Gears Up for 2017 Season
The Moravian College Football team, like others, are prepping for this 2017 season. This group of players and coaches have a bit of a different mindset during this preseason camp; "just focus on right now". The coaches want the team to come together, get more familiar with each other and work hard during these practices right now, instead of looking too far into the future.
A New Lafayette Football Program
The Lafayette football program looks to first year head coach, John Garrett, with the hopes of new beginnings in a stagnant program. The Leopards have gone just 3-19 in their last two seasons and 1-9 on their home field. With a new mentality to this program, the players are anxiously awaiting getting on the field and starting the 2017 season.
Kutztown University Hosts Volleyball Camp
The Kutztown Volleyball head coach John Gump just finished his 30th year of coaching. In the summer, Gump loves to bring out his current players to host a summer volleyball camp. The week long camp consists of 3 different camps within it. The first is for kids ages 12-18 that are looking to develop their fundamental skills. The second is for those at a higher level looking to prepare for their high school seasons or looking to play in college. Finally, there is a team camp where teams from local high schools come to learn and prepare for their upcoming seasons.
CJ McCollum Back in Bethlehem
Lehigh University Graduate, the 10th overall pick in NBA Draft and easily one the most successful players to come out of Lehigh returned to the Lehigh Valley. Current Trailblazer, McCollum was the guest speaker at the Leadership Education and Development (LEAD) dinner at the ArtsQuest Center with hopes of inspiring all the young athletes in attendance.
Muhlenberg Volleyball Camp
Coach Keckler at Muhlenberg College hosting her second volleyball camp for kids from fourth through eighth grade. She strives to teach the kids all the different skills it takes to be a volleyball player and to have fun while promoting the love of the game.
Kutztown University and Phillipsburg HS Partner Up to Host Team Soccer Camp
Unlike most soccer camps in the area, where a team or individuals go to a university's home site, head women's soccer coach of Kutztown University, Erik Burstein, traveled to Phillipsburg High School to hold a camp for the Phillipsburg Women's soccer team. The girls were taught many different tactics, drills, and footworks skills but they also realized what it would take to play at the college level.
Moravian Girls Basketball Camp
The Moravian Women's Head Basketball Coach, Mary Beth Spirk, having over 30 years of coaching experience, certainly has a lot to give to those looking to play at the college level. Spirk also enjoys showing them how important it is to have a love for the game and to provide the campers with some excellent role models.
