Meghan Caffrey joined the Sports Scene team as a Reporter in October of 2016.

Meghan comes from an athletic family. Growing up in New Jersey, the third of four kids, Meghan was constantly on the sidelines of her older siblings’ soccer, basketball, baseball, and football games. A dancer herself, though she did try her hand at basketball, Meghan’s passion for sports grew from the sidelines. Sunday afternoons spent with her dad, hammering him with questions as the Giants went to work on TV, was where Meghan learned that she could make this love and interest of a game into a career.

While attending Penn State University (We Are!), Meghan was heavily involved with Big Ten Network StudentU productions, and A perfectionist by trade, thanks to years of ballet, Meghan jumped at every opportunity, and even created some of her own, expanding her sports knowledge and honing her reporting skills.

When Meghan is not covering the Valley’s sporting events you can find her outside. A true Jersey girl, she absolutely loves the beach and anything to do with being close to the water. Meghan’s passion of athletics carries over into her personal life. She is constantly trying new workout classes, and finding fun ways to sweat. When not sweating in the gym, she loves going on walks with her puppy, Kenzie.

Meghan loves to meet new people and chat, so feel free to reach out to her with a story idea or just to say hello! (Or even send her your favorite smoothie recipe or a “must go” workout class recommendation in the Valley!)
