LEHIGH WOMEN'S SOCCER AVOIDS ANOTHER LOSS

Well there are two ways to look at the Lehigh women’s soccer team.  You could say the team has been very successful, having not lost in six games. That is if you are being optimistic.  Or you could say the team is unable to find ways to win.  You may be a little confused since I just said they have not lost in six games, but the fact of the matter is, they have not won in three of them either.   The latest tie came Wednesday night against Colgate, a team they absolutely dominated from start to finish:

   Shots: 23-14

   Corner Kicks: 5-1

   Shots on Goal: 11-4

"We played really well. We're happy with everything except the result," said Lehigh head coach Eric Lambinus, "We're happy with the way we played and we're happy with the way we dictated. I thought we put on a good performance. We held the ball, we created good chances, and we got 11 shots on frame and a bunch of corner kicks. I thought we did well, but we are disappointed with the result."

The Mountain Hawks scored just 1:12 into the game, but they could never find the back of the net again.  Colgate would respond at the 13:26 mark.  Since it is not a loss the Mountain Hawks still get a point in the Patriot League standings which is also a positive.

Lehigh will wrap up a difficult week tomorrow at Navy, and the Midshipman are not going to be any easier of a team.  The Midshipmen are riding a six game winning streak into the matchup, with a 10-3 record.  Their 3-0 record in league play has them sitting atop the chart.  I said it once in one of my previous blogs, and I will say it again.  The Mountain Hawks NEED to start scoring.  They have 4 goals in 4 games.  Navy has 8 goals in their 3 Patriot League victories.
