PARKLAND SOCCER TEAMS RULE IN EPC

The Parkland soccer teams are not only the ONLY undefeated teams left in the East Penn Conference collecting numerous shutouts, although not quite on the pace of the Northwestern boys. The girls went into last year's District Final at 23-0 with 104 goals scored while only allowing just 3. Before their October 4th game with Central, the Trojans had ten shutouts in 13 games outscoring their opponents 60-6. Their record was 13-0 overall. The boys after their 2-0 over Central on October 4th were 13-1 overall with their only loss, 2-1, against South Kent Ct, in September. That team was the top drawer soccer.com anointed National Champion last year.
The girls won 58 straight games agaisnt Distrixt XI teams. They suffered a heartbreaking loss in the first round of the PIAA tournament but went one step further last year beating Conestoga 1-0 in the first round before another heartbeak in the second round losing to Mainheim Township 3-2 in PK's.
Parkland boys had no hardwarw to show for last year and fell in the PIAA first round and that's certainly something the upperclassmen want to change in 2017. As the regular season winds down with just a handful of games left, once again we begin speculation about what is in store for these two teams, especially the boys who lost in PK's to Emmaus in last year's District XI Final. Liberty made the EPC Final last year, Parkland did not and the Hurricanes are having another stellar season, but does not face Parkland in the regular season.
In the meantime, enjoy the soccer. There's a chill in the air at night games now which means we are not far from high-stakes action!
