FAMILY SPORTS DAY

My two kids have grown up around sports. They have been to a lot of games in a lot of places. Sometimes they have even wanted to go!! Saturday was a pretty neat day for me. The three of us saw three different sports in three different places.

My younger daughter Hannah got the day started here with a 3:30 kickoff at Beaver Stadium:

Then it was my older daughter Sarah's turn with a 6:05 first pitch at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, FL:

And finally, it was the old man's turn with a 7:05 faceoff at PPL Center:

It was Hannah's first Penn State football game. In a word, she said it was amazing. Saquon Barkley and the Nittany Lions put on another show in a 45-14 win over Indiana. I'm sure there will be many more trips to Beaver Stadium in the next three seasons. And I hope to join in the fun!

Sarah and her friends sat in the ninth row behind home plate at The Trop to watch the Tampa Bay Rays hold off the Baltimore Orioles, 4-3. I'm guessing she had a pretty good connection to get such great seats! She has one-upped her dad here. I have never seen a game inside the dome.

Attendance at PSU: 107,542. That's 92,126 more than the announced crowd in St. Pete.

Unfotunately for me, the Phantoms lost their preseason game against Charlotte Saturday night. But it was a cool day for me as my girls had a chance to have some fun watching their games. Neither one wanted to trade places with dad and that's okay with me.
