The Parkland boys tennis team has been a staple for years winning titles annually, no matter what coach is leading the way.
Art Smith went 282-55 during his 22-year tenure catching ten league and four district titles. Also from 1983-1989, his teams won 67 matches in a row. Then in 2004, Smith started a new streak that went through three coaches before ending this year.
Parkland won 149 regular season league matches in a row, before the streak ended on April 12, with a 3-2 loss to Nazareth.
From there the Parkland winning tradition continued behind Julian Taibi, who posted at 33-0 league mark while going 45-4 overall in his three years winning three league titles and one district championship.
Most recently, Mike Hingston just completed his 5th year, compiling a record of 78-7, which includes four league and three district titles.
In all, Parkland has won 20 league titles to go along with 9 district titles as they closed out the 2017 season.
