Liberty's 1st District Title in 25 Years

The District XI team tennis championships hitting the courts at Lehigh University on a pleasant day to be outdoors. One team not in the finals this year is Parkland, who lost in the semi-finals to Nazareth.  The blue eagles also the team that just weeks ago beat Parkland to snap the trojans 149 match win streak, which dated back to  April of 2004..

This year a new champion as Liberty got the better of Nazareth 3-2.  It’s the hurricanes first District title in 25 years, with the last one coming back in 1992.

In the 2a class Moravian Academy the top dog once again as they beat Central Catholic 5-0. For the lions, its their 9th straight District Championship and 13th over the last 14 seasons.

Both teams now move of to the state tournament, which gets underway on Tuesday May 16 with first round action taking place.
