The Colonial League Track and Field Championship meet was the first Track & Field meet for me at TV2Sports, and after learning I was covering it, I couldn’t wait to watch some speedy races and gazelle-like jumpers.

As Hodrick (Mike, as many of you might know him-one of our trusty camera men here at TV2Sports) and I walked onto the infield I overwhelmingly thought to myself, “Wow, there’s a lot going on all at once here.” But, Hodrick had covered many track and field meets before and took me through the rundown.

Making sure to cover all of our bases, I wanted to get a girl’s track event next. I saw the 4x800 meter relay was up. Perfect. As the race was underway, I looked up to see another Southern Lehigh tan blonde running by and thought to myself, “Wait a second, didn’t she just finish her leg of the race? Oh shoot..Did I miss a lap?”

Well, my notes were right and thanks to my contacts, my eyes were right too. I was actually watching Southern Lehigh’s relay twins in action. Brianna and Alissa VandeBunte and Sarah and Allyson Yanega won the 4x800 meter relay in 9:35.01 in the Colonial League Championship Meet. In the process, chipping seconds off their seeded time and beating the competition by almost 16 seconds.
