To have the opportunity to even showcase your skills at a national level is one thing. To be chosen as one of 33 players to participate in the U-21 Junior National Camp for Team USA is a whole other story. But that was the case for Lafayette field hockey junior Theresa Delahanty. Delahanty recently tried out at the Young Women’s National Championship at Spooky Nook Sports in Lancaster, Pa.
The Young Women’s National Championship is a high-level, international structured competition that serves as a selection opportunity for the 2017-18 U.S. U-21 Women’s National Team, U.S. Women’s National Development Squad and the U.S. Women’s National Team. The championship features the most elite female collegiate and post collegiate players in the country. More then 130 athletes showcased their skills over a 5-day period.
I know that sounds like a lot of gibberish! But all you really need to know is that if things continue to go well for her she could one day be playing for Team USA.
