Mark your calendar for Friday November 17, that is when college basketball makes a return to the PPL Center. The night will feature a doubleheader that will include both Lehigh and Lafayette. While tip off times are still not confirmed, the night expects to be another success at the Allentown venue.
The Villanova men will make their return to the Lehigh Valley to take on Lafayette, while in women’s action, the Lady Wildcats will go head to head with Lehigh. While it will be the first appearance in the PPL Center by the Mountain Hawks, Leopards, and Lady Wildcats, it will mark the second time the Villanova men hit the arena hardwood.
Back on November 14, 2014, The Wildcats took part in the first ever college basketball game in the PPL Center, as they posted a 77-66 win over Lehigh. The game featured Liberty graduate Darrun Hilliard, who was a guard on the Wildcats and since then is looking to make his mark in the NBA.
Villanova, which won the NCAA championship in 2016 beat Lafayette in last year’s season opener 88-48, a year that saw the Leopards post just nine wins on the season. The Lehigh women, meanwhile, were just 10-20 last season, with the Lady Wildcats going 20-15.
Tickets for the doubleheader will go on sale this Friday, July 28th. Don’t miss out on the action!
