As we turn the page to 2018, the High School Basketball season gets back on the hardwood tonight with a full slate of action in the Colonial League.

This is how they stand as we tip off the New Year. The 3-time defending champions in the Colonial League, Bangor, are once again the team to beat. They are off to a 4-0 start in league play and 5-1 overall with a big matchup with Notre Dame on Friday night, a team that is right on the Slaters heels, checking in at 5-1 and 7-3 overall.

While those two teams battle in the East division, the West is also very tight as league play resumes. Northwestern Lehigh, the surprise out of the gate, already 4-1 and 6-2 overall. Their biggest win of the year came on December 14th, a 76-73 overtime win over Catasauqua. The two teams are tied for first place with the Rough Riders coming in at 4-1 and 5-2 overall. Their biggest win of the year came prior to their loss to Northwestern and it was another thriller, 84-81 over Notre Dame in overtime.

Other teams to keep your eye out in the Colonial League, include Wilson, Moravian Academy and Southern Lehigh, but while its still early in January, no one can really be counted out. The regular season concludes on February 7th.
