Moravian Football Opens Preseason

Preseason is upon us and it’s always interesting to see the approach different coaches take. For Moravian College football head coach Jeff Pukszyn, it’s getting back into the swing of things, and coming together as a team. The players have one responsibility and that is football. There are no classes yet, so he wants all of their focus on football. Once they come together, then things will start falling into place.

The team is coming in off of a bit of a disappointing season, finishing 5-5 overall, after going 8-3 the year prior. But, the guys seem pretty optimistic for this upcoming year despite being inexperienced at several positions, including the QB position. As for Head Coach Jeff Pukszyn, well he has them right in the middle of the pack and apparently everyone agrees, as the Greyhounds were picked 5th in the preseason poll. Pukszyn has 6 players vying to be the leader on the field, and right now they are in the thick of things, but he hopes to have a little more clarity with the QB situation after Saturday’s scrimmage. Fortunately, the Greyhounds seem to be reliable in the trenches on both the offensive and defensive side of the ball.

The Greyhounds open their season on the 31st at Kings and the Centennial Conference on September 9 vs. McDaniel at 1 which will be broadcasted right here on Service Electric!
